After a long summer of negotiations LaMarcus Aldridge has finally agreed to a 5 year, 65 million dollar contract. After teammate Brandon Roy received an 80 million dollar deal, Aldridge demanded the same. After coming to the obvious conclusion that that was never going to happen he agreed to a deal which could net him 70 million dollars including incentives. This agreement will not go into effect until the end of this season.
Now having their two premier players locked down in long term deals the Blazers are in a good position heading into next summer. Teams like Miami and Cleveland have no such comfort as their big names are threatening to test the market which is like a summer long heart attack to a team's front office.
