NBA Regular Season 12-31-09

Pistons vs Bulls (Slo's pick: Bulls)
Since Tyrus Thomas has come back from injury the Bulls have been a different team. Taking into account Thomas' return and Derrick Rose's emergence as a star the Bulls will continue their winning ways. At least against teams like the Pistons.

Rockets vs Mavericks (Slo's pick: Mavericks)
The Mavs are a much better overall team than the Rockets and should win this game tonight in Dallas.

Spurs vs Heat (Slo's pick: Spurs)
The Heat are playing the second half of back to back road games tonight, that's never a good thing. The Spurs are going to get it done tonight at home.

Thunder vs Jazz (Slo's pick: Thunder)
After going down to the wire with the T'Wolves last night, I have a hard time seeing the Jazz pulling it out tonight in Oklahoma City. If the Thunder keep the Jazz running consistently, eventually they'll break down.

Clippers vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Clippers)
Both teams played last night, the Sixers are on the road which means the Clippers are the logical choice since these teams are pretty evenly matched.

NBA Regular Season 12-30-09

Cavaliers vs Hawks (Slo's pick: Cavaliers)
The Cavs just beat the Hawks in Atlanta last night. There is no reason they can't do the same tonight at home in Cleveland.

Pacers vs Grizzlies (Slo's pick: Grizzlies)
After losing last night in Chicago I expect the Pacers to lose again tonight, this time to the upstart Grizzlies. The Grizzlies are much more athletic and if they play an uptempo game they'll win.

Magic vs Bucks (Slo's pick: Magic)
At home, the Magic should win this one in a blowout.

Raptors vs Bobcats (Slo's pick: Raptors)
I expect Gerald Wallace and Hedo Turkoglu to pretty much cancel each other out this game. The Raptors will win in a Chris Bosh explosion.

Nets vs Knicks (Slo's pick: Knicks)
Although it could come down the wire, do yourself a favor and don't watch this game. Both teams are terrible and should be cancelled from all national TV schedules.

Hornets vs Heat (Slo's pick: Heat)
I expect the Heat to go into New Orleans tonight and come out with a win. In a game that could go either way you always pick the team with the best player.

T'Wolves vs Jazz (Slo's pick: Jazz)
The Jazz should win this game in a blowout, I doubt it will be close.

Trailblazers vs Clippers (Slo's pick: Trailblazers)
Even without Greg Oden the Blazers are still a huge disappointment. Regardless of all their struggles, there is no reason to believe they won't beat the Clippers at home.

Kings vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Kings)
If Tyreke Evans plays tonight the Kings will win. Right now Evans is fighting an ankle injury but is doubtful for this game according to the Kings' official Twitter page. I'm banking on him playing, therefore I'm taking the Kings.

NBA Regular Season 12-28-09

Bobcats vs Bucks (Slo's pick: Bucks)
I don't know why I think the Bucks are going to win this game but I do.

Nets vs Thunder (Slo's pick: Thunder)
The Thunder should win this game in a blowout.

Grizzlies vs Wizards (Slo's pick: Grizzlies)
The Grizzlies are better, therefore they will win tonight home.

Suns vs Lakers (Slo's pick: Lakers)
The Suns are playing the second half of back to back games tonight. I don't expect them to beat the Lakers without fresh legs.

Trailblazers vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Trailblazers)
The Blazers should win this game tonight at home.

Kings vs Nuggets (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
Even if the Nuggets are without Chauncey Billups again tonight, this should still be a win.

NBA Regular Season 12-27-09

Clippers vs Celtics (Slo's pick: Celtics)
The Celtics are without Paul Pierce for the second straight game. It won't necessarily be a blowout, but the Celts should still take this game.

Nuggets vs Mavericks (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
Statement game. I'm taking the Nuggets because they're home, they get a great lift from the Denver fans.

Slo's record on the season: 269-131

NBA Regular Season 12-26-09

Bulls vs Hornets (Slo's pick: Hornets)
The Bulls match up well with the Hornets, however, right now they are just too inconsistent. There's a very good chance the Bulls could win this game, just not good enough to justify picking them for the time being.

Mavericks vs Grizzlies (Slo's pick: Mavericks)
The Mavs should win this game easily, the Grizzlies have very little hope containing Dirk Nowitzki. All of the Grizzlies' big men are not anywhere near as athletic as they need to be to cover the sharpshooting Nowitzki.

Pacers vs Hawks (Slo's pick: Hawks)
The Pacers are going to hope and pray that the Hawks ate too much over Christmas, because that's the only way the Pacers are going to have a chance tonight against such an uptempo, and highflying team.

Nets vs Rockets (Slo's pick: Rockets)
Having a 2-27 record isn't exactly reassuring. The Rockets are the obvious pick in this game. As are most teams who play the Nets.

T'Wolves vs Wizards (Slo's pick: Wizards)
The Wizards should win this game with relative ease in Mike Miller's return to Minnesota. Brendan Haywood is heavy enough that he can battle with Al Jefferson down low and for the most part keep him under wraps.

Thunder vs Bobcats (Slo's pick: Thunder)
The Bobcats are most likely going to stick Gerald Wallace on Kevin Durant and hope for the best. Unless Wallace plays the best defensive game of his life the Thunder will win this game at home.

Bucks vs Spurs (Slo's pick: Spurs)
Teams like the Bucks have been giving the Spurs trouble all season. I'm still taking the Spurs for no other reason than that great players win games. Tim Duncan, while old, is still a great player. Unless Brandon Jennings starts playing like he was in November, expect the Bucks to keep sliding.

Jazz vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Jazz)
The Sixers have been one of the biggest disappointments of the season thus far, they will be blown out tonight in Utah.

Kings vs Lakers (Slo's pick: Lakers)
If the Kings win this game, expect a parade to be thrown in their honor. They will be embarrassed tonight at home.

Warriors vs Suns (Slo's pick: Suns)
The Warriors match up with the Suns better than any other team in the league. They are basically the same type of team just with second tier players. I have a hard time seeing the Warriors outscore the Suns for 48 minutes. Expect a very high scoring game, both teams play as little defense as humanly possible.

Slo's record on the season: 262-128
Slo's record on Dec. 23rd: 8-2

NBA Regular Season 12-23-09

Magic vs Rockets (Slo's pick: Magic)
This is a game where the Rockets are really going to miss Yao Ming, who is out for the season with a foot injury. Dwight Howard is going to have a field day en route to a blowout win for the Magic.

Pistons vs Raptors (Slo's pick: Raptors)
Given the Pistons injury problems, picking them tonight makes no sense. I'm going to stay away from the Pistons until they get either Ben Gordon or Richard Hamilton back in the lineup.

Heat vs Jazz (Slo's pick: Heat)
Miami is one of Carlos Boozer's desired destinations for next summer's free agent frenzy. I think Dwyane Wade is going to will his way to a win tonight and show Boozer what he could eventually be a part of.

Nets vs T'Wolves (Slo's pick: Nets)
The Nets are going to get their third win of the season tonight. If there's any team they have a good chance against it's the T'Wolves.

Hornets vs Warriors (Slo's pick: Hornets)
Chris Paul is back in full force, the Hornets will get the win tonight at home.

Bucks vs Wizards (Slo's pick: Wizards)
If the Wizards can get into a slow paced game they will win. Half court offense is their forte, if they play their style they should win tonight in Milwaukee.

Spurs vs Trailblazers (Slo's pick: Spurs)
To stay in the hunt, games like this are key for this aging Spurs team. They will get the win tonight in San Antonio.

Nuggets vs Hawks (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
This is a statement game for both sides. The Nuggets will get the win tonight behind their energy supplied by the Denver faithful. I fully expect this game to come down to the wire.

Suns vs Thunder (Slo's pick: Thunder)
Unlike most teams. the Thunder actually can run with the Suns for short periods of time. If they can get Kevin Durant into his scoring rhythm early they will give themselves a great shot tonight in Phoenix.

Kings vs Cavaliers (Slo's pick: Cavaliers)
The Cavs should win easily tonight in Sacramento, where LeBron James played his very first game as an NBA player.

Slo's record on the season: 254-126
Slo's record last night: 8-1

NBA Regular Season 12-22-09

Knicks vs Bulls (Slo's pick: Bulls)
This game is going to be decided by the Bulls energy. They are going to be either very energetic and eager to wash away the stain of last night's collapse, or they're going to be dragging their feet on their way to a ninth straight road loss. Given the personalities on the Bulls I have a hard time seeing them not give everything they have tonight.

Celtics vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Celtics)
Larry Bird will be in the new Garden tonight to watch the Celtics methodically dismantle his Pacers.

Wizards vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Wizards)
Both of these teams are so inconsistent that this game is very hard to predict. I'm taking the Wizards in hopes that they can play with some purpose tonight on their home court.

Bobcats vs Pistons (Slo's pick: Bobcats)
With Tayshaun Prince out, and Richard Hamilton and Ben Gordon questionable for tonight's game it makes no sense to take the Pistons tonight on the road.

T'Wolves vs Hawks (Slo's pick: Hawks)
This is a trap game for the Hawks. if they bring at least 70% of their usual energy they should still win.

Grizzlies vs Warriors (Slo's pick: Grizzlies)
The Grizzlies have been playing well as of late, I expect them to win this game with relative ease tonight at home.

Mavericks vs Trailblazers (Slo's pick: Trailblazers)
Mavs' superstar Dirk Nowitzki is still struggling from an elbow injury, he is heavily medicated and his status for tonight's game is questionable. Even if he plays, I doubt he will shoot well after being drugged up for the last few days. If the Blazers take advantage of that and go at him on offense all night they will win.

Rockets vs Clippers (Slo's pick: Rockets)
The Rockets are far more talented than the Clippers, so much that there was no other choice when picking this game.

Lakers vs Thunder (Slo's pick: Lakers)
The Thunder have cooled down since their hot start, despite a big night from Kevin Durant the Thunder will still fall tonight in LA.

Slo's record on the season: 246-125
Slo's record last night: 3-2

NBA Regular Season 12-21-09

Bulls vs Kings (Slo's pick: Bulls)
With a healthy Derrick Rose and a new approach the Bulls are playing much better. They will win tonight at home as they keep clawing their way back to the .500 threshold.

Pacers vs Bucks (Slo's pick: Bucks)
The Bucks will win in this Central division matchup. The Bucks' offense is too good for the Pacers were to contend with. The only way the Pacers win this is game is if the Bucks beat themselves with mental mistakes and poor execution.

Magic vs Jazz (Slo's pick: Magic)
The Jazz can't battle with Dwight Howard down low. To win this game the Jazz are going to have to get Howard in foul trouble very early.

Spurs vs Clippers (Slo's pick: Spurs)
The Spurs should win this game easily.

Suns vs Cavaliers (Slo's pick: Suns)
The Suns should be able to run on the Cavs all night. The Cavs are playing the second half of back to back games tonight and without fresh legs running with the Suns is nearly impossible.

Slo's record on the season: 243- 123
Slo's record Dec. 19th: 5-4

Saturday, December 19, 2009

NBA Regular Season 12-19-09

Bulls vs Hawks (Slo's pick: Hawks)
The Bulls would need to play their best game of the year to have a chance tonight. Unless John Salmons gives the Bulls any kind of production they will lose by 20+.

Magic vs Trailblazers (Slo's pick: Magic)
The Blazers have nobody to battle with Dwight Howard down low, expect Howard and the Magic to bully their way towards a win.

Bobcats vs Jazz (Slo's pick: Jazz)
Although the Jazz are playing the second half of back to back games tonight they should still beat the Bobcats in Charlotte.

76ers vs Clippers (Slo's pick: 76ers)
The Sixers are coming off their best win of the season last night in Boston. They will ride their momentum to a home win tonight against the Clippers.

Nets vs Lakers (Slo's pick: Lakers)
The Nets' fans are in for a treat tonight. They get to watch Kobe destroy their middle school basketball team.

Rockets vs Thunder (Slo's pick: Thunder)
The Thunder are more talented than the Rockets and therefore will get the win. Not all games require a deep analysis. Sometimes one team is just better.

Bucks vs Kings (Slo's pick: Bucks)
This game is between the two best rookies this season. The Kings got blown out last night in Minnesota and all of their starters logged major minutes. For that reason the Bucks will win tonight at home.

Spurs vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Spurs)
It's hard to watch the Spurs this year. The Spurs' great team throughout the decade is starting to deteriorate right before our eyes. The Pacers' game plan should be to push the ball up the floor whenever possible, doing that will give them a fighting chance tonight. Still, I have a hard time seeing the Spurs losing to the Pacers tonight at home.

Suns vs Wizards (Slo's pick: Suns)
This will be a very high scoring game, neither team plays defense with any intensity. There is no team in the league who can try to outscore the Suns in a shootout type game. The Suns will win big tonight at home.

Slo's record on the season: 238-119
Slo's record last night: 5-6

NBA Regular Season 12-18-09

Celtics vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Celtics)
I won't pick against the Celtics in the midst of an 11 game winning streak. The Celts will get an easy win tonight at home.

Raptors vs Nets (Slo's pick: Raptors)
After being blown out in their last two games the Raptors are going to win tonight at home.

Hawks vs Jazz (Slo's pick: Hawks)
This game is a good test for Hawks. The Jazz are a team right around their talent level, whoever wants it more tonight will come out victorious. Expect a high scoring game as both teams will be looking to run on each other all night.

Hornets vs Nuggets (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
The Hornets aren't the same pushover team we saw in the beginning of the season. Still, the Nuggets should win this game in New Orleans.

Cavaliers vs Bucks (Slo's pick: Cavaliers)
The Cavaliers will win this game as they are trying to keep pace with the Magic and Celtics.

T'Wolves vs Kings (Slo's pick: Kings)
The Kings are a young team and this is a trap game for them. If the Kings come to play tonight they will win.

Knicks vs Clippers (Slo's pick: Clippers)
The Knicks are playing the second half of back to back games tonight. I have serious doubt that they will have the legs to run with the Clippers for a full 48 minutes.

Thunder vs Pistons (Slo's pick: Thunder)
If the Thunder execute they will win in a blowout.

Mavericks vs Rockets (Slo's pick: Mavericks)
The Mavs have too much firepower for the Rockets to contain for a full game.

Grizzlies vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Grizzlies)
The only reason I'm taking the Grizzlies in this game is because they have the luxury of playing at home. Also, the Pacers don't have the defense to stop both Rudy Gay and OJ Mayo.

Warriors vs Wizards (Slo's pick: Warriors)
The Wizards can't run with the Warriors, if the Warriors can control the pace they will run their way to a win.

Slo's record on the season: 233-113

NBA Regular Season 12-16-09

Hawks vs Grizzlies (Slo's pick: Hawks)
At home, there is no excuse for the Hawks to lose this game.

Pacers vs Bobcats (Slo's pick: Pacers)
Playing on the road for the second half of back to back games is always a challenge. The Bobcats are going to fall just short of victory tonight in Indiana against the Pacers.

Magic vs Raptors (Slo's pick: Magic)
After being embarrassed last night in Miami the Raptors are headed for another blowout loss. Not only are they playing back to back road games but they have to play the defending Eastern Conference champion Magic.

76ers vs Cavaliers (Slo's pick: Cavaliers)
For the Cavs to keep pace with the Celtics they're going to have to win games like these. They will win dominantly tonight in Philadelphia.

Nets vs Jazz (Slo's pick: Jazz)
A close game is highly unlikely, the Jazz will win easily.

Hornets vs Pistons (Slo's pick: Hornets)
The Pistons are playing the second half of back to back road games. If they play lazily Chris Paul will tear them apart.

Bucks vs Lakers (Slo's pick: Lakers)
Until the Lakers cool down they will be picked every time.

T'Wolves vs Clippers (Slo's pick: T'Wolves)
The T'Wolves create several mismatches tonight. First, the Clippers have nobody to guard Jonny Flynn, and second, Al Jefferson will score at will tonight with his power post play.

Thunder vs Mavericks (Slo's pick: Mavericks)
The Mavs will win this game if they can at least slow down the scoring machine that is Kevin Durant. Of course, that's a lot easier said than done.

Nuggets vs Rockets (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
The Nuggets will win in a major blowout tonight in Denver.

Warriors vs Spurs (Slo's pick: Spurs)
Although the Spurs are playing the second half of back to back road games they are still the much better team. If they are still a legitimate contender they need to win these games.

Kings vs Wizards (Slo's pick: Kings)
The Kings play better as a unit, they will win tonight at home in Sacramento.

Slo's record on the season: 222-112
Slo's record last night: 7-0

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

NBA Regular Season 12-15-09

Cavaliers vs Nets (Slo's pick: Cavaliers)
The Cavs will win in a blowout.

Bobcats vs Knicks (Slo's pick: Bobcats)
Coach Mike D'antoni has shortened his rotation to just seven players for the Knicks. If the Bobcats can get Chris Duhon in foul trouble they will win. This game is going to come down to the wire, the Bobcats have the upper hand because they're home.

Heat vs Raptors (Slo's pick: Heat)
The Heat are on a very rough slide right now dropping all the way to the .500 mark. They match up very well with the Raptors and will win comfortably tonight at home.

Bulls vs Lakers (Slo's pick: Lakers)
With the way the Bulls are playing right now there is no chance they can even stay competitive with the Lakers.

Rockets vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Rockets)
Trevor Ariza is going to spark the Rockets' win tonight at home.

Suns vs Spurs (Slo's pick: Suns)
The Suns should be running on the Spurs all night. If the Suns dictate the pace of the game they will win big.

Trailblazers vs Kings (Slo's pick: Trailblazers)
I want to take the Kings in this game but their 1-9 road record scares me. With the home court advantage the Blazers should win this game.

Slo's record on the season: 215-112
Slo's record last night: 5-2

NBA Regular Season 12-14-09

Magic vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Magic)
At home, the Magic will win easily tonight against the lackluster Pacers.

76ers vs Warriors (Slo's pick: 76ers)
Both of these teams are painfully inconsistent which makes them very hard to gauge. The Sixers have the upper hand tonight because they're home and for that reason they are the logical choice.

Grizzlies vs Celtics (Slo's pick: Celtics)
The Celtics are the best team in the NBA right now, the Grizzlies are going to see why in a blowout tonight in Memphis.

Mavericks vs Hornets (Slo's pick: Mavericks)
The Hornets will get smoked tonight in Dallas. They have no answer for Dirk Nowitzki and if they let him get hot early they might as well warm the buses and leave at halftime.

Nuggets vs Thunder (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
The Thunder are playing on back to back nights, to beat Denver a team needs to leave it all out on the floor. The Thunder's tank is nearing empty right now, that's not going to cut it against such a consistent Nuggets team. The Nuggets will win easily tonight at home.

Jazz vs T'Wolves (Slo's pick: Jazz)
The T'Wolves would have to play their best game of the season to even stay in contention tonight. Odds are that isn't going to happen therefore the Jazz are the obvious choice.

Clippers vs Wizards (Slo's pick: Wizards)
The only reason I'm taking the Wizards tonight is because the Clippers are playing on back to back nights. Playing with the Wizards for 48 minutes is probably going to be a struggle.

Slo's record on the season: 210-110
Slo's record Dec. 12th: 6-2

Saturday, December 12, 2009

NBA Regular Season 12-12-09

Bulls vs Celtics (Slo's pick: Bulls)
Bulls' center Joakim Noah has already come out and said that if the Bulls really believe they can compete with the Celtics then they can. I disagree. The Celtics are too good for the Bulls to have any kind of chance against. The Bulls are playing on back to back nights and John Salmons has yet to show any kind of life. The Celtics have pretty much every advantage in this game which is why they're going to win without breaking a sweat.

Wizards vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Wizards)
I hate the Wizards. They are so frustratingly inconsistent that I can never get a good read on them. I'm taking them tonight in hopes that they can put on a similar performance to the one they put on against the Celtics on Thursday night.

Pistons vs Warriors (Slo's pick: Pistons)
The Warriors are coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss last night in Chicago. I have a tough time seeing them going into Detroit tonight and coming out with a win.

Mavericks vs Bobcats (Slo's pick: Mavericks)
If the Mavs don't win this game expect Mark Cuban to make a fool of himself on national television. Let's all hope the Mavs lose.

Bucks vs Trailblazers (Slo's pick: Bucks)
The Blazers are playing the second half of back to back road games tonight. I don't think they're going to have the energy to compete with the upstart Bucks for a full 48 minutes.

Nuggets vs Suns (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
The main reason why I'm going against the Suns in this game is because they're playing the second half of back to back games on the road. They're not going to have the necessary energy to play with the Nuggets in Denver.

Jazz vs Lakers (Slo's pick: Lakers)
With the way the Lakers are playing right now, the only time I won't take them is if they are playing the Celtics.

Kings vs T'Wolves (Slo's pick: Kings)
In a few years this Kings team is going to be a serious factor in the West. Tyreke Evans is a sensational player who's only going to get better. The Kings will win big tonight in Sacramento.

Slo's record on the season: 204-108
Slo's record last night: 5-3

NBA Regular Season 12-11-09

Bulls vs Warriors (Slo's pick: Bulls)
Right now the Bulls are desperate for a win. If the Warriors are contained early on they will never get comfortable and as a result will never get their offense going. If the Bulls win the first quarter they will win the game.

Heat vs Mavericks (Slo's pick: Heat)
If the Heat can keep it close all the way up until the 5 minute mark of the fourth quarter they'll win. Dwyane Wade is the best closer in the game today and if given the chance he will show that tonight.

Hornets vs Knicks (Slo's pick: Hornets)
The Hornets are starting to play the way I thought they would last summer. If they can keep up their solid defense they will win tonight at home.

Cavaliers vs Trailblazers (Slo's pick: Cavaliers)
The Blazers are stumbling rite now and tonight the Cavs are going to knock them down. I thought the Blazers were not going to be greatly affected by Greg Oden's absence but clearly I was wrong. The Cavs will win big tonight at home.

Grizzlies vs Thunder (Slo's pick: Thunder)
The Grizzlies don't have the defensive stopper in place to contain Kevin Durant. Expect the Thunder to win big tonight in Memphis.

Spurs vs Bobcats (Slo's pick: Spurs)
The Spurs are really starting to show their age. A loss to the Bobcats tonight would be a red flag that their run in the West is starting to come to a close. If they're dropping home games against sub .500 teams, they are no longer a serious title contender.

Lakers vs T'Wolves (Slo's pick: Lakers)
The T'Wolves keeping it somewhat respectable tonight would be a shocker.

Suns vs Magic (Slo's pick: Magic)
The Suns were my original choice in this game but after comparing the rosters the Magic are the obvious choice. The Magic's defense is good enough to at least slow down the Suns' offense. But the Suns' defense is going to have a nightmare containing the Magic's many offensive weapons. In the end, I see the Magic pulling out a win tonight in Phoenix.

NBA Regular Season 12-10-09

Jazz vs Magic (Slo's pick: Magic)
I'm not going to over analyze this game, I'm just picking the better team. Championship teams need to be able to beat good teams on the road, tonight is a good chance for the Magic to further solidify themselves as a top title contender.

NBA Regular Season 12-9-09

Hawks vs Bulls (Slo's pick: Hawks)
The Bulls are playing the worst out of anyone in the NBA right now, until John Salmons is no longer a Bull they will keep losing.

Pacers vs Trailblazers (Slo's pick: Trailblazers)
I don't think the Pacers have the defense to stop the Blazers. If Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge play somewhat decent they should win easily.

76ers vs Pistons (Slo's pick: 76ers)
I'm taking the Sixers under the assumption that Ben Gordon won't go off for 50. Unless that happens the Sixers are walking away with a win.

Nets vs Warriors (Slo's pick: Warriors)
The Nets collected their first road win of the season last night against the free falling Bulls. I still see them getting crushed tonight by the Warriors.

Bucks vs Raptors (Slo's pick: Raptors)
Jose Calderon is possibly the most underrated point guard in the NBA, night in and night out he puts on great performances yet he never gets any publicity. In this game he and Brandon Jennings will cancel each other out. Because the Bucks are playing on back to back nights, picking the Raptors makes the most sense.

T'Wolves vs Hornets (Slo's pick: Hornets)
I'll be shocked if the Hornets don't win in a blowout. Now that Chris Paul is back in the lineup there is no excuse to lose to teams with 3-18 records.

Rockets vs Cavaliers (Slo's pick: Cavaliers)
To be a top seed in the East the Cavs are going to have to win games like this. Sometimes a road game on the second half of back to back games can be problematic but if the Cavs are for real it won't be.

Spurs vs Kings (Slo's pick: Spurs)
Whether or not Tyreke Evans is playing tonight is still up in the air, even if he does play the Spurs should dominate the Kings tonight at home.

Lakers vs Jazz (Slo's pick: Lakers)
The Jazz have been playing well as of late, unfortunately for them not well enough to beat the Lakers in LA. Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer would have to play out of their minds for the Jazz to have a chance.

Slo's record on the season: 193-101
Slo's record Dec. 7th: 3-1

NBA Regular Season 12-7-09

76ers vs Nuggets (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
The Sixers don't have the defense to stop the Nuggets' potent offense. I expect the Nuggets to win in a blowout.

Knicks vs Trailblazers (Slo's pick: Trailblazers)
Although center Greg Oden is out for the season, games like this should still be a cakewalk for the Blazers.

Thunder vs Warriors (Slo's pick: Thunder)
If the Thunder want to become a legitimate title contender games like this need to be routine wins.

Jazz vs Spurs (Slo's pick: Jazz)
If the Jazz keep this an uptempo game they'll win. This Spurs team is totally incapable of playing a fast paced game for 48 minutes.

Slo's record on the season: 190-100
Slo's record last night: 5-0

NBA Regular Season 12-6-09

Knicks vs Nets (Slo's pick: Knicks)
The Nets are coming off of their first victory of the season. I hope they enjoyed it because I doubt they're going to win more than 20 games this year.

Bucks vs Cavaliers (Slo's pick: Cavaliers)
I will be surprised to see the Bucks win tonight, I don't see anyone on their team who can slow down LeBron James. I just hope the Bucks can keep it close enough that LeBron doesn't have time to break dance on the sidelines.

Pistons vs Wizards (Slo's pick: Pistons)
I'll be the first to admit that I really don't understand the Wizards. Whenever I start to think they are terrible they go off and beat a title contender. Whenever I think they're for real they end up losing 4 straight to all bottom feeder teams. I'm taking the Pistons in this game because they're home but for the first time this season I really have no idea who's going to win this game.

Kings vs Heat (Slo's pick: Heat)
The Heat are on a terrible slide right now in the standings. Just as it looked like they were about to break out of it with a big win in LA Kobe Bryant decides to bank a game winner, on the run, from the three point line. Games like that are heartbreakers to inexperienced teams, it's up to Dwyane Wade to keep his team fighting until this funk comes to an inevitable close.

Lakers vs Suns (Slo's pick: Lakers)
If I had to pick this game two weeks ago I would have picked the Suns but given the Suns' latest struggles I have a hard time seeing them beat the red hot Lakers on the road.

Slo's record on the season: 185-100
Slo's record last night: 6-3

Are You Serious?

LeBron James' dance performance against the Bulls last night was flat out embarrassing. The Cleveland Cavaliers are known to be a very loose team and have clearly exemplified that with their pre game skits. But this was just unacceptable. Throughout the Cavs' game deciding run in the second half James could be found on the sideline dancing. Not from his seat, he actually got up and started dancing for all to see.

Bulls' center Joakim Noah took exception to James' clown-like activities and let him know from the bench as James was at the free throw line. After the first free throw was taken James made his way to the Bulls' bench where Noah stood up as words fired back and forth.

"It's nothing against the Bulls and it's nothing against Joakim or none of those guys, it's nothing about showboating on a team. I've seen it happen all last year. I think he was more frustrated about the way he played as an individual. He didn't help his team win."

This is James' slick way of saying, "Noah sucked and should have kept his mouth shut".

This shows James' immaturity, especially considering Noah's comments: "When you're losing the way you're losing and guys are rubbing it in your face, dancing and all that, I have a lot of respect for LeBron. It's just a frustrating situation."

Noah could have and probably should have called James a moron for his antics but he refrained, he admitted that he was acting out of frustration and in his own way apologized. James seemingly refuses to acknowledge how out of line his actions were which shows that he's the most egotistical person on the planet, he even beats out Kanye West.

The NBA front office is always talking about the league's public image. Whenever a fight breaks out during a game heavy fines and suspensions are delivered as a penalty for setting a bad example.

This was just as bad as a fight if not worse.

Basketball is an emotional game, while fighting is certainly not condoned it is understandable. Dancing though, definitely isn't. Luckily for James, commissioner David Stern is in love with him and won't punish him. He is very lucky that I'm not the commissioner because if I was James would receive a 1,000,000 dollar fine as well as a 20 game suspension. Think about how many people idolize James, then think about how many of those people are kids under age 15. When he does this it sets a worse example than any fight could.

James is getting away with this because he's a superstar, but look at the other major superstars in the past few decades. Jordan, Bird, or Magic wouldn't be caught dead doing something as idiotic as this.

If James thinks he's a big enough star to justify his actions he's out of his mind. He's nowhere near the top tier of NBA greats nor do I think he ever will be. He's not even the best player in the league, maybe not even one of the best two. Kobe Bryant is definitely better and one could make a strong case for Dwyane Wade as well. When you really think about it, what has James done in his career to justify calling him King James? He has an MVP award, one scoring title, and a rookie of the year award. That's it. Is that enough to call someone an incredibly arrogant nickname? Absolutely not. Without a championship ring Prince James is more appropriate.

Until James wins at least three championships it is ridiculous to even mention him in the same breath as Bird, Magic, and Jordan. Whether or not James will win a championship is a mystery, but if he keeps up his absurd behavior Red Auerbach is going to haunt his dreams, that much is for sure.

NBA Regular Season 12-5-09

Bobcats vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Bobcats)
Last night the Bobcats handed the Nets their first win of the season. Tonight I expect them to come home hungry and ready to avenge last night's embarrassing loss.

Bulls vs Raptors (Slo's pick: Bulls)
Derrick Rose had a rough night last night in the Bulls' 13 point loss in Cleveland. Tonight I think he's going to explode offensively. I'm not sure if that's going to mean points or assists but it will definitely be one of the two. Joakim Noah had words for LeBron James last night after the game was already out of hand, which clearly shows that he's very frustrated with his team's performance. I expect him to have a big night tonight as well. Also, Bulls' defensive specialist Kirk Hinrich may be coming back to the lineup tonight which would be a huge boost. Even if he doesn't, I still think the Bulls will win tonight at home.

T'Wolves vs Jazz (Slo's pick: Jazz)
Despite the Jazz playing a road game on the second half of back to back games, I still see them winning big tonight in Minnesota.

Spurs vs Nuggets (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
The Spurs are coming off a home loss to the red hot Celtics. I see them dropping another one tonight to Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets. I think Anthony is going to have a big night tonight in the Nuggets' close win.

Mavericks vs Hawks (Slo's pick: Mavericks)
The Hawks lost at home to the Knicks last night and as a title contender that just can't happen, They will lose again tonight against the Mavs in Dallas.

Suns vs Kings (Slo's pick: Suns)
The Suns have gotten trounced in their last two games. Tonight I think they're going to beat Sacramento badly in their return back to Phoenix.

Trailblazers vs Rockets (Slo's pick: Trailblazers)
Unless Trevor Ariza and Aaron Brooks play a perfect game the Rockets will lose tonight in Portland.

Warriors vs Magic (Slo's pick: Magic)
The Warriors have nobody to slow down Dwight Howard, I'll be shocked to see them win tonight.

Clippers vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Clippers)
I'm taking the Clippers for no other reason than that they're home.

NBA Regular Season 12-4-09

Wizards vs Raptors (Slo's pick: Raptors)
The Wizards have recently upset the Raptors in Toronto, tonight the Raptors will return the favor by winning in Washington.

Hawks vs Knicks (Slo's pick: Hawks)
The Hawks should win this game easily. Big time blow outs are sometimes important because it allows the starters to get some rest. The NBA season is long and all those minutes take their toll.

Hornets vs T'Wolves (Slo's pick: Hornets)
Everyone do yourself a favor by not watching this game.

Pistons vs Bucks (Slo's pick: Bucks)
The Pistons are terrible and will continue to be terrible until they get healthy.

Nets vs Bobcats (Slo's pick: Bobcats)
Until the Nets win a game I refuse to pick them.

Grizzlies vs Mavericks (Slo's pick: Mavericks)
The Mavs will win for no other reason than that they're far more talented than the Grizzlies. They should win with relative ease tonight in Memphis.

Cavaliers vs Bulls (Slo's pick: Bulls)
Last time the Bulls went into Cleveland they narrowly escaped with the win. At that time Derrick Rose was still injured and wasn't nearly as aggressive as he normally is. Now, with Derrick Rose back to form the Bulls should win this game tonight in Cleveland.

Thunder vs Celtics (Slo's pick: Celtics)
The Celtics had an impressive win last night in San Antonio. Although this is their second road game in two nights I still think the Celtics are walking away with the win. The Thunder are very soft inside to expect Kevin Garnett and Kendrick Perkins to have a field day.

Jazz vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Jazz)
The Pacers don't have the defense to stop the Jazz and they don't have the offense to justify having a bad defense.

Lakers vs Heat (Slo's pick: Lakers)
With Pau Gasol back the Lakers are very hard to stop. If the Heat find themselves down going into the third quarter they will lose. The Lakers this season have been pulling away in the third in most games. I'll be surprised to see the Heat win tonight in LA.

Spurs vs Celtics (Slo's pick: Celtics)
The Celtics are coming off a blowout win in Charlotte. This is a big statement game for both teams. The Celtics will win in a close game.

Nuggets vs Heat (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
Chauncey Billups is notorious for dismantling inexperienced point guards. Tonight he will get Mario Chalmers in foul trouble early as the Nuggets get the win.

Warriors vs Rockets (Slo's pick: Warriors)
This pick is based on a hunch, the Warriors will win in a very high scoring game.

Slo's record on the season: 172-91

NBA Regular Season 12-2-09

Hawks vs Raptors (Slo's pick: Hawks)
The Raptors are playing on the road in the second half of back to back games. They will lose to the Hawks tonight in Atlanta.

Cavaliers vs Suns (Slo's pick: Suns
)
The Suns are coming off their worst performance of the season. It goes against all logic to say this but I have a feeling the Suns will play very well tonight and pull out a win in Cleveland.

Magic vs Knicks (Slo's pick: Magic)
Blowout, won't be close.

Wizards vs Bucks (Slo's pick: Bucks)
I originally went with the Wizards in this game but I have a feeling that Brandon Jennings is going to go off tonight. If he does the Bucks should win in Washington.

Nets vs Mavericks (Slo's pick: Mavericks)
I won't pick the Nets to win a game until they prove they're better than a middle school team.

T'Wolves vs Grizzlies (Slo's pick: Grizzlies)

With their speed the Grizzlies should be running on the T'Wolves all night. If they do that this will be a blowout.

Thunder vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Thunder)
The Sixers have no one who can even slow down Kevin Durant. He will have a big night in the Thunder's win.

Bulls vs Pistons (Slo's pick: Bulls)
The Bulls have lost 5 straight games, they are too good to stay in this funk much longer. I can easily see them getting back on track tonight as their schedule becomes very friendly in the month of December.

Kings vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Kings)
The Kings play well at home and I love Tyreke Evans' game. I think they Kings will win this one in Sacramento.

Clippers vs Rockets (Slo's pick: Rockets)
Rockets' forward Trevor Ariza should have his way with whichever scrub the Clippers try to stick on him. The Rockets will win tonight in LA.

NBA Regular Season 12-1-09

Bobcats vs Celtics (Slo's pick: Celtics)
Charlotte has always been a tough place to play for the Celtics. Although the Celtics are much better and should win by a lot this game will probably come down to the wire. In that case the Celtics are the obvious pick because in the last two minutes they could go to 4 different scorers every possession.

Raptors vs Wizards (Slo's pick: Raptors)
The Raptors should destroy the Wizards tonight at home. With their sharpshooting big men The Raptors' will pull the Wizards' big men out of the paint giving Chris Bosh room to operate. I doubt this game is close.

Knicks vs Suns (Slo's pick: Suns)
The Suns will score somewhere near 130 points tonight in Madison Square Garden en route to a huge win.

Nuggets vs Warriors (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
After an unacceptable loss against the 2-15 T'Wolves the Nuggets will come out firing tonight. Unless the Warriors play a near perfect game this will be a blowout.

Trailblazers vs Heat (Slo's pick: Trailblazers)
The Heat are sliding badly right now, their slide will continue tonight in Portland. The Blazers are much faster and if they can somewhat contain Dwyane Wade they will win comfortably.

Lakers vs Hornets (Slo's pick: Lakers)
The Lakers will win so easily tonight that I wonder if Kobe Bryant will even play more than 30 minutes.

Vinny Del Negro Will Be Fired By the Season's End

The Bulls fell to 6-9 tonight in Milwaukee. The Bulls are currently on a 5 game losing streak to end their road trip. Although Vinny Del Negro's coaching performances have been unbelievably bad, the biggest problem lies in the actual offensive system.

The Bulls currently run the same offense which they ran in the Kirk Hinrich, Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, and Andres Nocioni era (2004-2008). At that point in time it was effective because it freed up the Bulls' many shooters and created catch and shoot opportunities for Gordon. Now that Gordon is in Detroit, John Salmons has filled in his slot in the offense.

Every single possession the Bulls run the same exact play. John Salmons runs off a double screen at the top of the key and spots up for what is supposed to be a jumper, unfortunately he turns it into an isolation. The Bulls also run a play where Salmons comes from the baseline or Derrick Rose comes from the sideline, in both cases they run their man into two picks. The average basketball fan wouldn't notice this but it's the SAME EXACT PLAY, it's just turned on its side. At this point teams know that it's coming so clearly that they just jump the play causing disarray in the Bulls offense.

For some reason Del Negro can't seem to notice this and I just don't understand why not, the majority of the plays Rose can be found in the corner without a prayer of re-entering the play. That's just unacceptable.

The system needs to be changed to fit Rose better. All season I have been screaming for Del Negro to isolate Rose more because he's flat out unstoppable in an isolation. I can confidently say that because every time they do it Rose scores at will. Tonight Rose had 8 points in the first three quarters because the Bulls ran their regular, predictable offense. But, when Rose was able to create for himself and others in the fourth, he scored 11 points and got the Bulls the lead which was their first lead since being up 2-0.

It's no secret that Rose is the Bulls franchise player, so why not give him complete control of his team?

Rose ate Brandon Jennings alive tonight in all phases of the game. Rose's ankle appears to be back to normal as his lightening quickness has returned. This situation is very simple, if Del Negro doesn't change the offensive system very soon he will out of a job. But judging by Del Negro's demeanor that won't matter. When the game is on the line he seems more concerned about whether or not to put pepperoni's on his pizza than who's going to take the last shot.

Don't get the wrong idea, aside from his horrid offense I think Del Negro is a great coach. His players like him, and he calls great plays out of timeouts as can be seen throughout the Bulls vs Celtics playoff series. This is what makes this situation so hard to understand. Del Negro is clearly a very intelligent basketball mind and has exemplified that all the way back to his playing days. My guess as to why he's not changing the offense is that in the pre-season he thought Salmons would be able to fit in Gordon's slot seamlessly. But now, after realizing that he can't, it's too late to learn a whole new system. Without a doubt trying to institute a new offense on the fly would be much more difficult. But when your team is putting up 92 points a night it's necessary. Del Negro has the offensive weapons at his disposal, if he doesn't use them effectively, someone else will.

NBA Regular Season 11-30-09

Bucks vs Bulls (Slo's pick: Bulls)
This game marks the second Rose vs Jennings battle of the season. In their first matchup Jennings played better than Rose all the way up to the fourth quarter where Rose went off for 10 points in under 6 minutes to give his Bulls the win. The Bulls will win tonight basically because they're desperate. The Bulls have been blown out in their last four games by the top teams in the Western Conference. The Bucks are a big drop off from the teams the Bulls have been playing and therefore they will get the win. Also, it's important to know that Bulls' guard Kirk Hinrich and Bucks' center Andrew Bogut are both out for tonight's game.

Mavericks vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Mavericks)
The Mavs are more talented and deeper than the Sixers. They should win this game at home.

Jazz vs Grizzlies (Slo's pick: Jazz)
The Jazz prey on unintelligent teams. They will run circles around the Grizzlies tonight at home.

Warriors vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Pacers)
I'm very reluctant to take the Pacers in this game but I see them causing matchup problems all over the floor for this Warriors team. First of all, the Warriors don't have the size to battle with Hibbert down low which means the Pacers will probably dominate the glass. But most importantly, the Warriors have no one to guard Danny Granger, I'll be surprised if he doesn't have a very good night offensively. To win this game the Pacers are going to have to keep it slow paced. If they try to run with the Warriors they're not only going to lose but they will also give up around 120 points. The Warriors aren't really a good team but they can definitely score.

NBA Regular Season 11-29-09

Pistons vs Hawks (Slo's pick: Hawks)
Despite this being the Hawks' third game in four nights I still think they're going to win in Detroit. Looking at both rosters there's no reason to believe the Pistons will beat them. The only way the Pistons squeeze out a win here is if Ben Gordon has some ridiculous game and goes off for 50 points.

Raptors vs Suns (Slo's pick: Suns)
Expect no defense to be played here, both teams are very high scoring and believe that defense is some sort of sacrilegious practice to be avoided at all costs. The Raptors won't outscore the Suns for 48 minutes on any night. If the Raptors win this game I will be very impressed.

Clippers vs Grizzlies (Slo's pick: Grizzlies)
I still don't think the Grizzlies are as bad as their record indicates. I expect them to start turning their season around at some point, hopefully today.

Heat vs Celtics (Slo's pick: Celtics)
The Celtics looked like the Celtics of 07-08 in the fourth quarter of Friday night's game against the Raptors. The biggest difference for the Celtics this year has been their inability to go on game changing runs. In the past, the Celtics would be up by 4 to 7 points in about the third quarter where they would go on a 15-0 run and put the game away. If they play the way they ended Friday night's game this won't be close.

Knicks vs Magic (Slo's pick: Magic)
Against teams like the Knicks it doesn't matter that the Magic are playing on the road in the second half of back to back games. The Magic will win in a blowout in Madison Square Garden.

Spurs vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Spurs)
I'm taking the Spurs but don't be shocked to see the Sixers pull this one out. The Spurs always have trouble against up-tempo teams and the Sixers are definitely one of them. If the Sixers keep this a fast paced game they will be making life miserable for the Spurs.

Thunder vs Rockets (Slo's pick: Thunder)
As I predicted the Thunder are emerging as a contender for the final playoff spot in the West and the Rockets are flailing into mediocrity. The Thunder will win comfortably.

Nuggets vs T'Wolves (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
If the T'Wollves win this game it means that hell has indeed frozen over. I don't think they will come within 20 of the explosive Nuggets.

Kings vs Hornets (Slo's pick: Kings)
The Kings are a good young team and young teams are always dangerous at home. The Kings should be able to handle the Hornets somewhat easily.

Lakers vs Nets (Slo's pick: Lakers)
I wonder if the Nets' players will try to get Kobe's autograph after he shellacks them on his home floor.

Slo's record on the season: 153-80
Slo's record last night: 3-2

NBA Regular Season 11-28-09

Wizards vs Bobcats (Slo's pick: Wizards)
Both teams are coming off upset wins last night. The reason why I'm taking the Wizards is because they have a legitimate chance to turn their season around and being good this year, the Bobcats don't. If Arenas can start being more consistent the Wizards may put themselves in the race for the final playoff seed.

Cavaliers vs Mavericks (Slo's pick: Cavs)
Last night the Cavs were embarrassed by the Bobcats and I expect them to follow up that poor performance with a statement win over a top team. If the Cavs can keep Dirk Nowitzki under 30 they will win. Also, to win this game LeBron James is going to have to really step up and have a big night.

Bucks vs Magic (Slo's pick: Magic)
I doubt this game will be close, the Bucks don't have a prayer of stopping Dwight Howard. They're going to stick Andrew Bogut on him? Good luck.

Jazz vs Trailblazers (Slo's pick: Trailblazers)
The Blazers have too many weapons for the Jazz to stop. If the Blazers can get any production at all out of Greg Oden they will be the third best team in the West behind the Lakers and Nuggets.

Warriors vs Lakers (Slo's pick: Lakers)
The Warriors should consider themselves fortunate if they're not looking at a 20 point deficit by halftime. The Lakers will win in a blowout.

Slo's record on the season: 150-78

NBA Regular Season 11-27-09

Celtics vs Raptors (Slo's pick: Celtics)
The Raptors match up well with the Celtics but I still don't think they will win tonight in Boston. Right now the Celtics have something to prove and I'm just waiting for them to blowout some team by 40 to send a message. It doesn't really matter who that team is because when the Celtics play well and execute I still don't think there's a team in the league that can come within 10.

Heat vs Wizards (Slo's pick: Heat)
The Heat will win at home tonight against the struggling Wizards. I expect Wade to follow up his sub par performance on Wednesday night with an offensive explosion.

76ers vs Hawks (Slo's pick: Hawks)
Lately I've had the tendency to over analyze games and outsmart myself. I'm going to ignore that the Hawks are playing on the road in their second game in two nights. The Hawks will win tonight in Philadelphia after their ugly second half collapse last night at home against the Magic. In the second half the Hawks were outscored 54-25.

Bobcats vs Cavaliers (Slo's pick: Cavaliers)
The Bobcats have been playing decently well as of late. Unfortunately for them decently well doesn't cut it against the Cavs, it also doesn't help the Bobcats that Shaq is almost definitely returning to the Cavs' lineup tonight after being out for weeks.

Pistons vs Clippers (Slo's pick: Pistons)
It's important for the Pistons to stay relevant with Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince still sidelined with injuries. Slowly but surely the Pistons are sinking to the bottom of the east and in the process digging themselves a big hole to get out of.

Pacers vs Mavericks (Slo's pick: Mavericks)
If the Pacers don't lose by double digits they should consider this one a moral victory.

Rockets vs Spurs (Slo's pick: Spurs)
The Rockets are starting to play sub .500 basketball which is what I had expected. They will lose tonight to their Texas neighbor Spurs.

Nuggets vs Knicks (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
The Nuggets will beat the Knicks tonight in every category. I would be blown away to see the Knicks win tonight.

T'Wolves vs Suns (Slo's pick: Suns)
The T'Wolves should be very thankful for the Nets this holiday season because if it weren't for the Nets people would be calling the T'Wolves the worst team in the league. They will get embarrassed tonight on their home floor by the powerhouse Suns.

Thunder vs Bucks (Slo's pick: Thunder)
I am a firm believer that if the Thunder were in the eastern conference they would have no trouble getting at least the fourth seed. If they are as good as I think they are they will win easily tonight at home against the Bucks.

Trailblazers vs Grizzlies (Slo's pick: Trailblazers)
The Blazers are too talented for the Grizzlies to contend with for 48 minutes. The Blazers will win in a blowout tonight at home in the Rose Garden.

Kings vs Nets (Slo's pick: Kings)
Well Nets this is it, your best real chance to get a win before you lose 15 more games. The Nets will once again lose tonight on the road to the Kings. Kings' rookie Tyreke Evans is probably second in the Rookie of the Year race right now and he may very well take home the hardware at the end of the season. Of course, Brandon Jennings would have to stop producing the way he is , which I think is inevitable. It's ridiculous to expect a rookie to put up these numbers for 82 games, I think the Rookie of the Year race will be much more competitive than people think.

Slo's record on the season: 143-75

NBA Regular Season 11-26-09

Hawks vs Magic (Slo's pick: Hawks)
Although the Hawks have the better record the Magic are still the better team. The reason why I'm taking the Hawks is because the Magic are playing the second half of back to back games on the road. The Hawks should look to run on the Magic and if they can get into their transition game they will win.

Jazz vs Bulls (Slo's pick: Bulls)
The Bulls will win in Utah tonight on the back of Derrick Rose. For the Bulls the equation is simple. Derrick Rose being aggressive offensively equals a win, John Salmons taking the majority of the shots equals a loss. Rose needs to ignore the offense and just take over at certain points. It's more than obvious that he's capable of doing so but he's just too unselfish. I have a feeling that Rose will have a good night tonight. Since I've proclaimed his as being "back" he is averaging 20.6 PPG.

NBA Regular Season 11-25-09

Celtics vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Sixers)
The Celtics are bound to break out of this slump eventually, why not tonight against the Sixers.

Pacers vs Clippers (Slo's pick: Pacers)
I'm taking the Pacers only because they're home. If they play well they should be able to beat the Clippers on any night.

Bobcats vs Raptors (Slo's pick: Raptors)
I love the Raptors in this game but my only concern is that they're playing on the road in the second half of back to back games. The fresh legged Bobcats could stick in this game tonight but I doubt they will pull off the upset.

Magic vs Heat (Slo's pick: Magic)
As I expected the Heat are cooling down from their smoldering hot start, their slide will continue tonight in their bout against the Magic.

Hornets vs Bucks (Slo's pick: Bucks)
It's ironic that right after losing Chris Paul the Hornets start playing this well. Darren Collison is playing fantastic as are the Hornets' roll players. Unfortunately for them this short period of success will not continue for much longer. The Bucks will go into New Orleans and better their already impressive record.

Pistons vs Cavaliers (Slo's pick: Cavs)
Until the Pistons get Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince out of street clothes I'm not taking the Pistons against any good teams. The Cavs will win tonight, probably in a blowout.

T'Wolves vs Nuggets (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
The Nuggets' bench could beat the T'Wolves all by themselves. The Nuggets will win big tonight in Minnesota.

Rockets vs Mavs (Slo's pick: Mavs)
As unexpectedly good as the Rockets have been I just can't justify taking them against teams like the Mavs. I've underestimated the Rockets all season and if history means anything then I'm wrong about them again tonight. The Mavs will win tonight in Houston.

Spurs vs Warriors (Slo's pick: Spurs)
The Warriors are coming off of an impressive win last night in Dallas, I hope they enjoyed it because tonight they're going to get massacred in San Antonio.

Suns vs Grizzlies (Slo's pick: Suns)
The Suns will run the Grizzlies out of their own building, unless the entire Suns franchise comes down with swine flu they will win easily tonight in Memphis.

Trailblazers vs Nets (Slo's pick: Trailblazers)
Well people I have big news, if the Nets win tonight it means that the apocalypse is upon us. The Nets' real chance to win anytime soon is in their next game which is against the Kings in Sacramento. If they lose that game also, they very well may stay winless for a very long time.

Kings vs Knicks (Slo's pick: Kings)
Despite their record the Kings are playing pretty well, I have very little doubt that they will beat the Knicks tonight at home.

Wizards vs 76ers (Slo's pick: Sixers)
Until Gilbert Arenas proves that he can play well on a consistent basis the Wizards will not be a good team in the east. Although they are home I'm still picking against the Wizards tonight. The Sixers will win, probably easily.

Raptors vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Raptors)
Raptors. Blowout.

Mavericks vs Warriors (Slo's pick: Mavs)
The Mavs are a serious title contender this year, teams like the Warriors would need to get very lucky to stay in a game with them.

Lakers vs Knicks (Slo's pick: Lakers)
The Lakers are the best team in the league right now, I will be shocked to see them come within 15 points tonight.

Nuggets vs Nets (Slo's pick: Nuggets)
The Nets haven't won a game yet this season and that trend is not going to stop tonight. Much like the Knicks, they will get destroyed tonight on the west coast.

Jazz vs Thunder (Slo's pick: Thunder)
The Thunder will beat the Jazz tonight in Utah. The Jazz are massively overrated and they will soon be exposed as a mediocre team.

NBA Regular Season 11-23-09

Grizzlies vs Kings (Slo's pick: Grizzlies)
The Grizzlies are not playing as good as they should be and I think their season is going to turn around sometime soon. The Kings are an ideal team to start that turnaround against.

Bucks vs Spurs (Slo's pick: Spurs)
It will be interesting to see how Brandon Jennings fares against the veteran all-star Tony Parker. Regardless of how well Jennings plays tonight the Bucks are still headed for a loss.

Trailblazers vs Bulls (Slo's pick: Bulls)
The Bulls are better, plain and simple. With Derrick Rose seemingly back in form the Bulls are a much different team. If the Bulls can get Greg Oden in foul trouble then they will give themselves a good shot tonight in Portland. Also, the Blazers will be moving on without Travis Outlaw for months due to an injury. His loss will hinder their scoring production drastically. If the Bulls can keep Brandon Roy somewhat contained tonight then they will win.

Clippers vs T'Wolves (Slo's pick: Clippers)
I hate picking games between two bad teams, I'm taking the Clippers tonight for no other reason than that they're home.

Knicks vs Celtics (Slo's pick: Celtics)
If the Celtics don't win this game, I will question everything I know about life.

Raptors vs Magic (Slo's pick: Magic)
The Magic will win tonight in Toronto. The lightweight big men of the Raptors won't be able to slow down Dwight Howard which is why they will lose.

Bobcats vs Pacers (Slo's pick: Bobcats)
This pick is strictly a hunch, the Bobcats have been playing poorly and I think they're due for a win.

Lakers vs Thunder (Slo's pick: Lakers)
With Pau Gasol back the Lakers are once again one of the best two teams in the league, they will dismantle the Thunder tonight at home.

Heat vs Hornets (Slo's pick: Heat)
Since Chris Paul went down with an ankle injury the Hornets have won three straight games, all against teams that are much better than them. I don't think their run of luck will continue tonight in Miami.

Suns vs Pistons (Slo's pick: Suns)
The Suns are better than the Pistons at every position, they will win tonight at home.
